Saturday Night Fever is a 1977 American drama film starring John Travolta as Tony Manero, a young Italian-American man who spends his weekends dancing at a local disco and dealing daily with social and family tensions and disillusionment in his working-class ethnic neighborhood in Brooklyn. The music! Ah, the 70s! You can listen to the soundtrack on YouTube. I watched the movie on Amazon Prime.

Roger Ebert has it on his list of Great Movies. 81% of Rotten Tomatoes critics give it a positive review.
After months of seeing Insta or F/B videos of people dancing or exercising to Staying Alive, we decided we HAD to see the movie. It did not disappoint. Your volunteer is quite tall & soon your little bird visitors will be enjoying the tick seeds.
That movie is good but that rape scene is always a bit terrifying. And coneflowers are amazing, aren't they ? Is the volunteer phrase a variety of them from Tennessee? I am enjoying these garden views so thanks for sharing them Nita.
This is a native coneflower, but I didn't plant it. It volunteered in a pot I planted coreopsis in. I hope I get more volunteers of these wildflowers, maybe in a bed instead of other pots.
I was NOT a fan of disco. The early 80s was dominated by it and I thought it sounded like bubble gum music. It had replaced what we now call "classic rock," which I only listened to. While my school friends were swaying and swinging, I was in my own world with Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, etc.
What wonderful volunteer cone flowers. I hope they reseed and give you a bumper crop next year.
Love the music especially. Travolta was really good in this. If he wasn't--well, it does have a thin plot--lol! He can really dance--in several of his movies you can see he's a natural. :)
Because this blog does not consist of a single focus topic I chose the name Divers and Sundry where "Divers" means being of many and various kinds, and "Sundry" means consisting of a haphazard assortment of different kinds.
...disco was never my thing, but coneflowers are.
ReplyDeleteI was the right age for disco, but I never learned any of the fancy steps.

ReplyDeleteI have several plants that have gone to seed but never see birds at them. Odd.

I think of disco as being a 70s thing -while I was in college. I started having kids in the 80s, and my music was lullabies and nursery songs lol

ReplyDeleteThe music makes it, doesn't it... That opening walk...
DeleteLoved the music but this movie never was a favorite. I'll stick with the soundtrack. Gorgeous flowers!
