Come On In My Kitchen

Come On In My Kitchen:

by Robert Johnson, who died on this date in 1983. He grew up in Memphis, and depending on which legend you believe, that fabled crossroads might actually be here.

  1. The television show, Supernatural, did an episode on this myth. I can't remember if the musician in the show was Robert Johnson, but it was a blues player.

  4. Don't know the story of the crossroads (or senior moment and I don't remember). Don't know why but it felt like I had heard this before or something similar sounding maybe? Maybe it was on Supernatural as CJ mentioned? (LOVED Supernatural.) The photos were haunting.

    1. The legend is that Johnson met the Devil at the crossroads and exchanged his soul for mastery of the guitar. Exactly which crossroads is debated. Various locations in the area claim the honor.

    1. He had a great sound. Such a shame so much of it was never recorded :(

  7. I always liked Robert Johnson -- and he was such an inspiration to so many later. I remember the Beatles crediting him as an inspiration.

    1. Those old Blues artists were a wonder. So much has been lost, and I appreciate the work that has gone into rescuing what can be found.
