View from the Balcony

View from the Balcony:

by Ödön Márffy, a Hungarian painter who died December 3, 1959, 3 days after his 81st birthday. He was one of The Eight, "an avant-garde art movement of Hungarian painters active mostly in Budapest from 1909 to 1918. They were connected to Post-Impressionism and radical movements in literature and music as well, and led to the rise of modernism in art culture."

It's cold here, so even if I had a balcony I couldn't sit on it. I'll just stay all cozy inside while I drink my hot tea. Join me in a cup while we go over to the T Stands for Tuesday blogger gathering.

  2. Cold, here, too, and dreaming of sitting out on the balcony on a warm evening sipping iced tea. Is it July, yet? Happy T Day!

  5. I have been nine places today, in addition to lunch with Sally. I am exhausted, but so glad I am finally here to link you to T today. I know it's late, so some may not see the link, I fear.

I have never heard of this Hungarian artist, but I like this piece. I guess I really like both impressionist and post-impressionist painters. Thanks for sharing Marffy's lovely painting and your tea with us for T this Tuesday.

    1. I didn't link because I've been in a funk about my flat tire. Such a little thing, but it had me in a mood all day yesterday. *sigh*

  7. What a beautiful piece of art. Again, an artist I didn't know. Where do you find them? The colours are gorgeous and it begs the question if it was dawn or a sunset...
The weather here in southern Spain is back to normal, i.e. warm and sunny. That means we can eat outside. It's lovely in the sun. In summer it is too hot to sit outside but in winter on a sunny day it is wonderful.
We are usually away on Tuesday and I would use my ipad, but so many comments have not come through that I have given up on that and I just do the comments on my computer a day late. Better late than never!
    Happy belated T-Day,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

    1. I subscribe to a few art-related blogs and Facebook pages that share works of art. I can't remember where this one came from.... Your weather would definitely suit my desire to sit outside :) I like seasonal changes, but given a choice I always pick warmth.
