Bah, Humbug is a season 3 episode of the WKRP in Cincinnati TV series. It casts Gordon Jump's Arthur Carlson in the role of Scrooge. I was a huge fan of this series.
This was a great series. I used to watch it often. I don't remember this episode though. Doesn't mean I didn't see it. Arthur Carlson was always a bit of a scrooge if I remember correctly. Of course he had quite the cast of people to play again. Thanks for sharing it. Hugs-Erika
I have never been a fan of comedies, but WKRP is a definite exception. It is the only sitcom I EVER got into. It is smart, well acted, had great writers, and definitely adult oriented. Do you remember the Thanksgiving one with the "flying" turkeys (thrown out of an airplane) and the one for Memorial Day where they did the "sobriety" test on air? I laughed so hard at those, and I'm not known to laugh at most American humor. I guess I have a dry, British humor like my grandmother's.
I never saw this series when it was on, but they show one episode every night on a cable channel I have. Too bad it's in prime time, because I sometimes watch something else, since I don't have a DVD player.
"As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly." Yes! Priceless lol I watched it first run and then sometimes when it came back in syndication. It never gets old. We have the series on DVD and have re-watched the whole thing a few times. I want gongs to come back to the music world, but I'm told you can't go back again lol
It does help if you know who the characters are. I'd suggest watching the first episode of the series beforehand. It's just half an hour long: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTpvqUvMkzQ
Because this blog does not consist of a single focus topic I chose the name Divers and Sundry where "Divers" means being of many and various kinds, and "Sundry" means consisting of a haphazard assortment of different kinds.
Loved this series

ReplyDeleteI was also a fan back in the day. Carlson was under the thumb of his mother, poor thing. I think she was the scrooge ;) and he just channeled her.
