I'd only heard of this show (series), but never saw it as a child. I loved the Christmas past Christmas tree and the support hose stocking at the end. What fun. I'm SO glad you are sharing these Christmas Carol takes.
BTW, you are right about the words to my Gloria post today. Those are the words I also originally learned.
This series aired from 70-75, and I didn't watch it back then. I've seen the movie (though I didn't see it when it was released) so I was familiar with the concept and the characters. Some of those 70s-era tv shows haven't aged well, have they. I guess that's true of most tv shows. It's just not the same, seeing them decades later.
It's been ages since I've seen this, and I'm sorry not to remember. I did find a web site that lists these as appearing in the episode: “Jingle Bells,” “Deck the Halls,” “Joy to the World,” “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”
Because this blog does not consist of a single focus topic I chose the name Divers and Sundry where "Divers" means being of many and various kinds, and "Sundry" means consisting of a haphazard assortment of different kinds.
I hadn't seen this one, but like you say, almost every show had its version at one time or another. They were almost always fun.

Yes, I keep forgetting to add them to my list of Christmas videos. "Grimm" had 2 Christmas episodes lol
DeleteNo matter how they spin it, this is such a good story
ReplyDeleteIt's so adaptable to the series characters, whatever the series.

DeleteI didn't like this one as much as the others. Valerie
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely a product of its time. It hasn't aged nearly as well as some of the others.
DeleteAppropriately Odd Couple silly. I watched this show most of the time but didn't remember this one. :)
ReplyDeleteTV series still often have Christmas episodes, but I haven't seen a "Christmas Carol" one in a while.
Deletedoes anyone know what the song is that Oscar's present plays at the end of the episode?
