      It does feel shocking, how fast this year has passed! I'm trying to decide on a couple of new things to do this year, and I hope I can be consistent with that :)

      He was active into the 1980s. He's best known for writing the music (but not the lyrics) for Stardust, Georgia on My Mind, The Nearness of You, and Heart and Soul. Brilliant!

    I've heard of Hoagy Carmichael, but never this song. Brilliant. You find some of the best music that references Memphis.

      Memphis is frequently mentioned in song. There are long lists out there, and I just go back to them every once in a while :)

    I had heard of him but can't think of what I had heard by him. It wasn't this one because I didn't recognize it at all. Nice hot summer some. :)

      He was prolific and active in film/radio/tv. I enjoyed this reminder of southern summertime ;) even though our highs are reaching the upper 50s and into the 60s so it's not exactly a frozen winter wonderland here lol

      I couldn't find a Memphis connection when I looked a bit at his life, so I was happy he chose to mention us in a song :) It's chilly here today (a high in the mid 40sF expected) but sunny. I'll watch the patio birds and drink coffee :) Hope your day is good :)
