Blasted is a 2022 Norwegian (dubbed in English) science fiction comedy alien invasion film. Mindless silliness. There's nothing wrong with that. I watched it on Netflix. To be honest, Netflix is the streaming service I could most easily do without. I could subscribe for a month every year or so and binge what I've missed. I'm not sure it's worth the cost as a continuing subascription.
I haven't seen this one. We watched We Have a Ghost on netflix last Sunday night. That was a little silly and mindless but the perfect Sunday night film.
Netflix is interesting because it shows you more titles based on what you watch. I recently watched a Japanese show with subtitles The Full Time Housewife/Escapist a Rom-Com with little bit of the Hyperactive lunacy we expect from the Japanese. I especially found learning little bits about their culture that I didn't realize or think about before. When I finished I noticed that it opened up a whole slew of shows that weren't listed before. I'm sure there are so many titles that they limit what they show as available so as not to give us so many choices that we can't decide what to watch next.
Netflix thinks I don't want to watch anything except K-Dramas lol My younger son gets an entirely different selection offered. It can make it hard to find other things on the channel. I have to make an effort to search for specific things I learn about elsewhere.
ikr?! I mean I like the K-dramas, but I'd prefer more variety in their recommendations. I find out about Netflix series from other sources instead of Netflix. Odd.
Sounds like Netflix is the Google of films. That's why I stopped using Google about five years ago. And I have not had Netflix and will probably never get it.
I do enjoy Netflix and like what I've seen on it. It's one we continue to keep. Every time I finish my watchlist I end up adding a few other things to it.
Because this blog does not consist of a single focus topic I chose the name Divers and Sundry where "Divers" means being of many and various kinds, and "Sundry" means consisting of a haphazard assortment of different kinds.
...you have time for mindless silliness?
ReplyDeleteI believe we each have time for anything we prioritize.

ReplyDeleteI'll look for it. Thx!
DeleteThat is good feedback! Our kids have it, but we do not!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I think about getting rid of it I find something else...
DeleteThis looks like fun.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm glad to see more science fiction out there.
DeleteI think I'll pass on this one! Valerie
ReplyDeleteWe can't all like science fiction.
DeleteWe love science fiction in this household, even the comedy.
ReplyDeleteI'm a bigger fan than my husband, but I'm willing to give any of it a try if only to encourage them to make more :)

DeleteYou would think the computers would be better at knowing what I want to watch HaHaHa.
