Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a 1992 comedy horror film, the genesis of the long-running Buffy franchise. It stars Kristy Swanson, Donald Sutherland, Paul Reubens, Rutger Hauer, Luke Perry, Hilary Swank, and David Arquette. It was written by Joss Whedon, who created the later television series. I re-watched it after I finished re-watching the Buffy and Angel television shows. This has been a fun activity filled with so many fun characters. It's on HBO Max.

  1. Luke Perry looked SO young there. I didn't see the film until after I saw the Buffy TV show. For some reason, I can't see Kristy Swanson as Buffy after seeing Sarah Michelle Geller as Buffy. Yes, I saw every episode of both franchises. I even created an altered book with a Buffy doll on the cover.

    1. I can't even remember what order I saw them in, but I agree Geller is the more iconic Buffy. It's such a different take on the character, too.

    1. It's fun if you like the Buffy universe, if only to see how different it is from the series.

    1. They do have a completely different tone. Like any of the vampire shows, some are lighter in tone and some get quite dark. I like them all. Well, most of them...
