Children in the Dining Room

Children in the Dining Room:

by Henri Lebasque, who died on August 7, 1937. There should be a drink available with a meal, and yet I see none on the table. That strikes me as quite strange. Let's offer them some water, shall we?

I'm linking this post at Bluebeard and Elizabeth's weekly T Stands for Tuesday blogger gathering, where you would be welcome to join us with your own drink-related post.

ATCs:

I mailed my ATC for the PIF swap but haven't heard that it has arrived at its destination yet. I just got back from vacation and won't get our held mail 'til tomorrow. I'll catch up soon, I hope!

  1. Ah your daisy picture is so quintessential Summer. Right now in the stamping world, daisies are big. Looking forward to hearing more about your vacation.

  2. The lemon water picture looks very pretty. Fun ATCs. I like Foil and the gentleman wearing his hat and large bow tie.

  3. Lemon water (or orange and lemon water) has been my choice this summer. So I will join you for a glass. And nice ATC's. I don't think I'd want to bare my soul to the man in the top hat as he looks too friendly for my New England reserve, but you did a fabulous job with the white ATCs and that lemur made me smile. Happy T day. hugs-Erika

  5. My (Polish) in-laws never had drinks on the table during the meal. They were served after. I thought it was very odd too, D.

The brick wall ATC made me laugh. Love the white space one too. You'd have to tie my hands behind my back to keep me from adding something else. But it's perfect as it is.

    Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

  7. A beautiful painting! You mentioned that there was no drink on the table. I have heard that there are some cultures that eat and drink separately.
That white space ATC is my favorite. I love the little girl peeking out. Adorable!
    Happy Tea Day,
    Kate

  10. Sorry I'm late visiting. I voted in a primary today, then went for a sandwich and ran into some good friends. Before I knew it, it was 6:30 pm and I couldn't believe how much time I had spent away from my T Tuesday hosting duties.

I've never heard of Henri Lebasque, but his art is quite relevant for the time. The brush strokes look very post Impressionist to me. Odd there are no drinks, though. However, your lemon water really hits the spot and I keep lemon water in my fridge, too.

Loved the stencil and White ATCs this week. Saw the ones you sent Chris, too. BTW, I got your e-mail, but figured you were out of the area, so didn't write back.

Thanks for sharing Henri Lebasque's painting, your ATCs, and your lemon water with us for T this Tuesday, dear friend.

  17. Wonderful your ATCs !! As always, they are full of creativity, they are Gorgeous all !! The painting is very beautiful, thanks so much for sharing. Very happy T-day !! (sorry I´m late visiting you) I like very much lemon with water, here, we sometimes made "limón granizado" that is lemon juice with suggar and water, put in the freezer and wait for aprox. 6 /8 hours before drinking it, with ice. It´s delicious in summer.
I wish you a very nice Thursday, and send
    Big hugs, Caty
