The Haunted Castle

The Haunted Castle is a one-minute long 1897 horror film directed by George Albert Smith. Spend the minute here:



and watch the confused guest at the inn that's run by ghosts. It's based on a story by Georges Méliès. There is some confusion between this film and an earlier Melies-directed film by a similar name which is often translated the same in English.

    1. hand-tinting is so pretty, i think. this would be an early example. hand-tinting started in 1894 or 1895, depending on which site i look at.
