Instant Cinnamon and Spice Coffee

I take my coffee strong and black, but every once in a while I like to shake it up a bit and try something new. Here's my latest:

Cinnamon and Spice Coffee

  • Instant coffee 1/3 cup
  • White sugar   2/3 cup
  • Nutmeg          1/4 tsp
  • Cinnamon      1/4 tsp
  • Allspice          1/4 tsp
Mix thoroughly

Spoon as desired for strength and size of cup, pour boiling water over mix, and stir.

It's quite sweet as you can tell from the amount of sugar in the recipe, but it makes a nice treat for variety during this season.

    1. It's how I was taught by Mother, who drank coffee when there was sugar rationing and a Depression on ;)

  2. I bet this would work with instant tea, too. Your Christmas cup is very pretty.

    1. The Russian Tea recipe is the same concept. I got to thinking there must sure be a way to make the same kind of thing with coffee :)

  4. I'm not a fan of instant tea, since I grind my beans just prior to making a pot of coffee. However, there's nothing that says you can't make this and use a teaspoon or two in a cup of regular coffee. I've made something similar for my cinnamon toast. That's yummy, too! Just leave out the instant coffee and spread it warm on hot buttered toast.

    1. We have a shaker we keep a cinnamon sugar mixture in for toast. We sprinkle it on the butter before we toast the bread. I'd never thought of adding other spices, but I bet it'd be good.

  6. What a pretty cup. I'm a black coffee person and don't even care for flavored beans--LOL! But I do remember making Spice Tea with Tang and lots of sugar years ago. :)

    1. Thanks :) It reminds me of our white Johnson Bros pattern :) I don't use this mix much, but sometimes I'm in the mood for something different.

  7. Love the cup, but I like my coffee to taste of coffee and mil-foam, and nothing else. Valerie
