Christmas Story is the story of how a young orphan boy named Nikolas grew up to be Santa. I watched it on Amazon Prime dubbed in English. Told by the man the boy grew up to be, it's a touching story.
I've been Christmased out since several cable channels started showing Christmas stories 24/7 at the end of October. Now you can't turn on any channel, cable or network, that doesn't have at least ONE Christmas story a night. This sounds different, though, and I started watching the one that is NOT on Prime, which I don't have. It looks good and I will finish it once I leave this comment.
We don't have cable and never have the tv on unless we're looking for something in particular. I look for Christmas movies to post during Advent/Christmas, and I've been pleased with what's available on Netflix/Amazon. I hope you like this :)
Wasn't it! I wish it had been available when the kids were little. I like the re-imaginings of the Santa Claus story. The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus was always a favorite around here.
You are the queen of finding movies on the internet. What country was this film made in? Happy winter. It is officially here now but you are probably still enjoying some spring like temperatures. We've had a little warm up but not as warm as you keep reporting. Hugs-Erika
Finland. The landscape is gorgeous! We're expecting a high of 66F on Christmas Day. Much warmer than usual for us. I observe the meteorological seasons, so I've been in winter mode since 12/1. The weather isn't on board, though lol.
I'm a Christmas movie junkie and have been since 2012! I watch them on Lifetime, the Hallmark Channel, Ion, Freeform, Netflix and my Firestick. The only place I've never watched is on Youtube. On Youtube is where I find news on getting freebies and other deals. I'll have to add this one to my list to watch on Christmas Day, and I thank you so much. Did I mention that I also watch the Yule log on the Hallmark Channel so I can see Happy the Dog, and Happy the Cat jump around? (lol)
I find a lot of movies on Youtube. We don't have cable, so those particular movie channels are lost to me. I'm enjoying Netflix and Amazon Prime. My hubby loves the fireplace options. He has a DVD of that :)
Because this blog does not consist of a single focus topic I chose the name Divers and Sundry where "Divers" means being of many and various kinds, and "Sundry" means consisting of a haphazard assortment of different kinds.
This sounds like a wonderful movie.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed it. If we still had young kids I'm sure we'd put it in a rotation for re-watching next year.
Delete...I never knew that Santa was once a young boy! Merry Christmas to you.
ReplyDeleteThere are several of these films that make up a back story for Santa. None of them based in history, of course, but still ...
DeleteThanks, but I'm steering clear of anything Christmassy, it's not my cup of coffee! Valerie
ReplyDeleteThere's so much out there that it's still easy to find non-Christmasy things to watch :)
