Holiday Affair (1949)

Holiday Affair is a 1949 romantic comedy starring Robert Mitchum (one of my favorites) and Janet Leigh. It takes place during the Christmas season. Delightful! This is perfect if the Hallmark movies make you gag but you're still wanting a sweet movie for the season. I watched it here.

trailer:

The NYT calls it "an amiable little romance". Emanuel Levy concludes, "Holiday Affair is a suitable fare for all members of the family, and a capsule of what American value system in the 1940s."

Please have a Christmas cuppa with me:

and join the T Stands for Tuesday party hosted by Bleubeard and Elizabeth.

  4. I'll certainly join you for a cuppa. Your Christmas tree cup and saucer would fit right in my home (grin). It's a beauty, too.

I laughed at your description of the Hallmark movies. I totally agree. Too much sugar (or syrup) and not enough spice for my taste. However, I might actually watch this one. Especially since I'm not really into Christmas feel good movies.

  10. Himself and I have been watching Christmas movies. Will have to tell him about this one. I’ll skip the coffee in favor of tea. No worries, I travel withs my own teabags, cream that doesn’t require refrigeration, and liquid Stevia. I’ll gladly use one of your pretty Christmas cups.

I need to check this one out. Hope it was a super T day. I can send you a box of snow if you would like also. We had of it today. Hugs-Erika

  13. I'm not sure if I've seen this one, so I'm going to save the link. I love the Hallmark Christmas movies, because I like seeing happy endings, since life rarely works that way. I love your Christmas cup. Happy Belated T-Day!
