Turkish Cafe

Turkish Cafe (1914):

Turkish Cafe 2:

by August Macke, who died on September 26, 1914, at the age of 27 at the front during World War 1. You can see more of his work here, here, and here.

Looking at these paintings I find myself wanting to pull that chair up and sit with her. Or maybe I could invite her to join me instead. Here was my view yesterday morning as I was getting this post ready to schedule:

Please join me in visiting with the bloggers who participate in Bleubeard and Elizabeth's weekly T Stands for Tuesday gathering.

  4. OMGosh. I love the view you have from your computer desk. What a gorgeous view you have. No wonder you spend so much time working on that patio.

I've never heard of August Macke. so I enjoyed these paintings. Too bad a horrible war took his life far too soon. He had a real talent, didn't he?

Thanks for sharing the art of August Macke and your view of the patio and your coffee with us for T this Tuesday.

  9. That's a nice view. Coffee/tea and garden views is what makes life sweet. Those are fabulous paintings. We're cold and wet today so there's no sitting in the garden for me but it would be nice to do that. Hope it was a good T day. Hugs-Erika
