Filmsite calls it "a sophisticated romantic/sex comedy (with light romance and mock seduction scenes) -a classic screwball film, a quintessential Preston Sturges work of art and the director's first real commercial hit." It's on Roger Ebert's list of Great Movies. Rotten Tomatoes has a critics score of 100%.
I know Missy from "Sorry, Wrong Number", "Titanic", and as Victoria Barkley, the Matriarch, in "The Big Valley". Hard to imagine her in a "screwball comedy"

DeleteQuite screwball, yes. I hadn't seen this one. Not used to seeing either of them in these type of roles but they did just fine. :)
