Troll is a 2022 monster movie. I like Norse mythology and am happy to see a film based on troll myths. There's a set-up at the end to allow for a direct sequel, and I'll look forward to that release. I watched it on Netflix.

...another that I missed.
ReplyDeleteIt's just from last year, so we'll have missed many of those.
DeleteI was wondering about this one.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to see the figures from Norse mythology.
DeleteIt was a little predictable but fun.
ReplyDeleteWell, we've seen so much it would take a lot to be unpredictable in a monster movie.
DeleteProbably not for me but I like the Nordic concept!
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to see another culture's myths brought to the screen.
DeleteNothing like my little troll doll my Swedish grandfather called a tomtegubben. I asked him what it meant and he said it was a troll that lived under a bridge. I just googled it to try to find out how to spell it in Swedish and it says it's a goblin--(folklore) a small grotesque supernatural creature that makes trouble for human beings--but also maybe one of Santa's elves (it's in a children's Christmas song?) ?? How strange. Doesn't say troll, though. But to my grandpa those plastic troll dolls were tomtegubbens. ;)
ReplyDeleteInteresting. That's a word I've never heard, though I know about trolls and goblins, and tomtens, and elves... Those little troll dolls! It's been a long time since I thought of those. I had one back in the day.
DeleteThe TV series, Vikings, got me hooked on to Norse myths & lengths. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThat was a good series.
