DeleteI love this song and Wilson Pickett in general. I didn't know he died today. If I owned a Mustang I would change my name to Sally for a few hours and take it for a drive in his honor.

DeleteBrought me back to being 14 and listening on my sweet transistor radio out by Moore Lake watching the mallard ducks with the dragonflies and red-winged blackbirds hanging in the cattails. :)
ReplyDeleteI loved my little transistor radio, under my pillow as I went to sleep. But I had to remember to turn it off before I drifted away completely. Those batteries didn't last long enough.
DeleteEven though all my friends were listening to disco, this and classic rock are the music genres I most identified with as a child. Wilson Pickett was awesome. I had to listen to it twice before I started this comment.
