The Alphabet Murders

The Alphabet Murders is a 1965 comedy film, a parody of Poirot. It's silly -oh, so silly. If you like that kind of thing you'll like this. It stars Tony Randall as Poirot, Anita Ekberg, and Robert Morley. I watched it through Amazon Prime on BritBox.

  1. ...we had an alphabet murderer in this community years ago and it wasn't a comedy.

    1. !!! Horrifying. The last thing we need is for murderers to get "cute" :(

  4. I watched this one years ago, and can't remember much about it except the title. That says everything! Valerie

  5. I like spoofs.

FYI: Bite is a good scary movie, although some scenes require a strong stomach (and not due to gore).

    1. Googling Bite, thanks. Ah... body horror... but I should try it anyway. I mean I didn't used to like horror at all except for the old classic monster movies, and I've learned to appreciate them in general...

I don't mind gore so much any more as long as it's not torture-related.

    2. Yes, I watched it again and got a few more chuckles out of it now that I knew who Poirot was. Loved the Miss Marble cameo! (Didn't know who she was either back then.) Was fun.

  7. I shouldn't have taken time to watch this. I fell asleep with less than 15 minutes to go. I finally watched the ending and I'm not sure I should have wasted an hour and a half of my life, but I did enjoy thuis spoof.

    1. I hate when I fall asleep during a movie or tv show, but it happens more than I'd like to think when I watch something at night. Then I go to bed and can I sleep? Of course not.

  8. I remember watching this way back when because I loved Tony Randall. I remember it being silly but I missed the parody because I had never heard of Poirot. Oddly, murder mysteries and crime drama and detective shows became a favorite of mine these last 30 years (due to a dear friend of mine who loved mysteries lending me books to try)...so now I might see this movie in a whole new light. I shall have to give it a go! Ta! ;)
