Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1941)

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is a horror film starring Spencer Tracy, Ingrid Bergman, Lana Turner, and Donald Crisp. It is a 1941 adaptation of the 1886 book Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. That book can be read online here.

We have a DVD of this film, and I can't find it available free.

    1. Isn't it! There've been so many adaptations of this book but few as good.

  2. Please don't fall over in shock. I have actually read the book and seen this film. It's a staple on Turner Classic Movies during certain times of the year.

  8. That was my introduction to Spencer Tracy as a kid. He had a way of dwarfing most of his co-stars.

    1. He did that part justice. The story continues to be popular and get adaptations. The most recent I know of was about 10 years ago, though.

  9. A classic tale & I am surprised how many times other movies, other TV series refer to "The Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde scenario.

    1. Yes, we used to have a couple of great shops here that sold used DVDs. Both have been gone for years now, more's the pity.
