Stroszek

Stroszek is a 1977 German tragicomedy directed by Wernor Herzog. I watched it here on TubiTV. I tried, but I just couldn't get into this one. I left it and came back to it several times but finally gave up. trailer:

It's listed in the book 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die. Roger Ebert considers it a Great Movie. Rotten Tomatoes has a critics consensus score of 95%.

  1. Sometimes it's your present place in life or mood, and sometimes it's just the movie. Or book. You try and it just doesn't work. But what counts is you try. Right?

    1. Yes, sometimes if I put it aside and come back to it in a different stage of my life they work for me. Most often, though, I forget to come back to them.

  7. Oh. boy. 5 darn years I was with a man named Burkhard. He betrayed me. More than once.
And... oh, boy, I do know why I buy DVDs to watch movies in the original!!!
Bad translation, it´s either way, badly translated. Interesting. And I wonder why.

    1. I always wonder what I'm losing in the translation, but I only have English.
