Stroszek
Stroszek is a 1977 German tragicomedy directed by Wernor Herzog. I watched it here on TubiTV. I tried, but I just couldn't get into this one. I left it and came back to it several times but finally gave up.
trailer:
It's listed in the book 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die. Roger Ebert considers it a Great Movie. Rotten Tomatoes has a critics consensus score of 95%.

Sometimes it's your present place in life or mood, and sometimes it's just the movie. Or book. You try and it just doesn't work. But what counts is you try. Right?
ReplyDeleteYes, sometimes if I put it aside and come back to it in a different stage of my life they work for me. Most often, though, I forget to come back to them.
DeleteI couldn't even make it past 30 seconds of the trailer.
ReplyDeleteWe'll agree to let this one pass us by.
Delete...if you couldn't get into it, I won't even try!
ReplyDeleteDifferent strikes. Some folks are real fans.
DeleteI'm not sure this is going to post, but I'll pass if YOU can't get into it.
ReplyDeleteHoorah! It posted!
DeleteWow, the little robot box showed up for a change.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what that was all about :( but I'm glad it's fixed now.
DeleteWell, I watched the trailer but I think I will give the film a miss!
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
You and me both lol
DeleteOh. boy. 5 darn years I was with a man named Burkhard. He betrayed me. More than once.
ReplyDeleteAnd... oh, boy, I do know why I buy DVDs to watch movies in the original!!!
Bad translation, it´s either way, badly translated. Interesting. And I wonder why.
I always wonder what I'm losing in the translation, but I only have English.
DeleteI saw this here, a long time ago -didn't like it all. Have a great day, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not alone.
DeleteI'll take you at your recommendation!
ReplyDeletePlenty of other movies out there.
