Still Life Corner of a Table:
is an 1873 painting by Henri Fantin-Latour, who died on August 25, 1904. I don't know much about art, but I enjoy looking at artists' works and reading about their lives. Ever curious, there's alway more to see and learn. You can see more of this artist's paintings online here and here.
I'm sharing this with the T Stands for Tuesday blogger gathering, where you should feel free to participate. A warm welcome awaits you.

...still lifes have been a popular art form for years.
ReplyDeleteThat's such a beautiful still life painting! The detail is amazing, it looks like a photograph 😀. Happy T Tuesday! Hugs Jo x
ReplyDeletePretty. Looks like the end of a lovely party. Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteThis is simply beautiful. Have a nice day.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a lovely table setting in a quiet painting. Thanks for the link.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful. This artist seems to be very good at painting flowers.
ReplyDeleteThere is another painting by him of a 'corner of the table' with some stern looking black-clad gentlemen in it.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
I became familiar with Fantin-Latour's paintings when I used to live in the Kansas City area and visited the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum. I also remember his work from the National Gallery in DC, the San Diego museum, and the Norton Simon Museum in L.A. I've always been a fan of his work and I am thrilled you chose this to share with us for T this Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteI don't know this artist either but it is interesting to learn about their art and lives. This piece of a beauty, and perfect for T also. Hope you have a good one.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting. I,'m going to an art museum tomorrow, I got a free ticket! Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteamazing how well done this is- it looks like a photo. Gorgeous! Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful still life. Yes, it is very interesting reading about the artists, their lives and what inspired their works.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day,
Kate
I wonder what wine is in the glass and what tea is in the cup! Happy, late T day!! ((Lyn))
ReplyDeleteI first thought it's a photograph. Nice to see they have tea as well as wine and maybe even something stronger on the table. Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteToo funny it´s really the same word as in German, "Stillleben" (and yes, after the "reform" we have to use three times the letter "l". As in Schifffahrt, a boats-tour. Schiff + Fahrt. It looks so sick. English is so much easier!)
ReplyDeleteSo realistic looking and soooo beautiful. Wow! TFS!!!! Happy T-Day a bit late!!!!
ReplyDeleteStill-life paintings fascinate me more and more. Sometimes I wonder why the artists chose their subjects, but they are often really pleasing.
ReplyDeletebest... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
I know little about art, either, but this table captures the recent activity and movement yet a peaceful serenity at the same time. Lovely! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful scene he painted! There is an air of mystery too. Belated Happy T Day, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful painting -- almost photographic!
