Shutter (2004)

Shutter is a 2004 Thai horror film. It was a hit and was remade both in English and Hindi. This one has a vengeful ghost. I watched it on Netflix.

trailer:

Bloody Good Horror says, "The film does a great job of creating some very memorable set-pieces that are sure to stick with you and maybe even have you looking over your shoulder or checking dark corners when you walk into a room." HorrorNews.net says, "“Shutter” remains a favorite ghost story and has been entered into my top scary films of all time." Classic Horror says, "a chilling and spooky ghost story that is presented very well. It has an intriguing idea, a very good cast, and two directors who pull no punches. This film is, as has been noted, one of the best films in the recent flowering of Asian horror cinema, and it is a harrowing and disturbing experience. "

  3. It sounds familiar to me, because back when Hulu was free, I watched a TON of Asian films. I loved them.

    1. Oh, I remember when Hulu had rotating free films. I really miss that! Hulu starts at only 6 bucks a month, and I'm sometimes tempted, but I swear we could $6 a month ourselves into the poorhouse :(

  4. I think I've had enough "harrowing and disturbing" experiences without adding to them!

    1. Sometimes I find some fictional "harrowing and disturbing" is the perfect thing to distract me from the real life horrors.
