I watched it on Netflix. Here's a trailer:
The Guardian gives it 4 out of 5 stars and opens, "A mind-bending Möbius strip of a movie, this indie sci-fi makes up for what it lacks in budget with a wealth of playful ideas." Wired calls it "masterful"
Roger Ebert's site opens a positive review with this: "If you have a good idea, a strong cast, a smart script, and directorial chops, you don't need a lot of money to make a compelling movie. "The Endless" is proof." Rotten Tomatoes has a critics consensus rating of 93%.

Consumption (2016) - awful, just awful
Don't Blink (2014) - Reviewers gave it a low rating, but I thought it was okay. As usual, people did a few unbelievable things, but the acting was good, and the story was interesting.
Sometimes I think reviewers had expectations that were unrealistic. Not everything has to be Citizen Kane to be entertaining. I'll take a look at Don't Blink. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteIt's interesting to see what audio and subtitle languages are available for movies we watch on Netflix. But this one doesn't seem to still be on Netflix anyway *sigh*
DeleteThe reviews were great and it sounds like a great cast, but for some reason, I just can't wrap my head around cult mentality. Too realistic right now with Proud Boys and Qanon.
ReplyDeleteAt least these 2 had left their teenage cult days long ago long ago. For adults to fall into this kind of cult leader worship -and I believe it truly is worship- shows a distinct lack of critical thinking skills. "Question Everything" -that's my motto.
