Yellow Brick Road
Yellow Brick Road is a 2010 award-winning found footage horror film about an expedition to discover the fate of an entire town that disappeared into the wilderness 70 years earlier. All the residents had abandoned their town with only the clothes on their backs after a viewing of The Wizard of Oz, a film with which they were all obsessed. You can watch it on Amazon Prime.

...an interesting story line.
ReplyDeleteI loved the Wizard of Oz connection.
DeleteI don't think we're in Kansas anymore!
ReplyDeleteThat's a _good_ thing as far as I can tell ;)
DeleteYou've been into horror films lately. Horror isn't my cup of tea, but you'd need to define "horro" because I remember you saying the Wizard of Oz is Horror.
ReplyDeleteYes, sometimes I find the crime shows and dramas much more "horror" than the shows labeled "horror" ;)
DeleteWorld’s scariest film is “Bambi” because of the way his mother dies. Maybe the Wicked Witch’s flying monkeys are a close second. Did the film you featured mention the flying monkeys? A small child I knew didn’t mind the monkeys but was worried because Dorothy lived with her aunt: “What happened to her mommy?” YMMV
ReplyDeletebe safe from monkeys and other flying hazards... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Bambi -movie and book both- is a sad story :(
DeleteThis movie doesn't spend any time on the Oz movie, just that it was the town's weird obsession with Wizard of Oz that was followed by the disappearances.
We own this movie. It is one of Mr. M's favorites. It is a strange and wonderful movie in a creepy sort of way.
ReplyDeleteIt is strange. It asks to be re-watched, doesn't it!
DeleteThese days I'm equating politics and horror rather often. The film sounds good! Valerie
ReplyDeleteAt least politics is normalizing a bit. Though I did hear the QAnon folks were blaming the blocking of the Suez Canal on Hillary. Mindless lol
DeleteThis sounds very weird!
ReplyDeleteYes! And it just keeps getting weirder!
DeleteI'll pass, but I know you love your horror films. My escape is murder mysteries being solved--LOL! ;)
ReplyDeleteI agree that Oz is filled with horror. Not sure I want to watch this, though.
