Klaus is a 2019 animated Christmas movie. I watched it on Netflix. I enjoyed this one. It's good to see new shows I think of as fun for both kids and adults. This tells the origins of Santa, but is a completely new re-imagining of the story unrelated to any actual history.
You wrote that this Santa story is "unrelated to any actual history" -- I'm not aware of any actual history of Santa, I thought he was fictional. Please explain where I've gone wrong.
By actual history I mean the conversion of the Dutch Sinterklaas to the American Santa, or the evolution of St. Nicholas in general to our current Santa figure. Klaus tells a Santa story in no way related to the historical figure of St. Nicholas. It takes the current Santa and builds a fictional story around him.
I can't remember whether I've seen this. Maybe we'll put it into the rotation. We've watched Die Hard 2, Deck the Halls, Die Hard 3 (I know, not Christmas, but my favorite), Christmas Chronicles 2, The Snowman (animated), and I think Die Hard for tonight's choice.
Always looking to add to my Christmas movie collection. This year we are adding Amelia Clarke's "Last Christmas", which I think is a 2019 movie & I'll put this animated one on the list. :)
Because this blog does not consist of a single focus topic I chose the name Divers and Sundry where "Divers" means being of many and various kinds, and "Sundry" means consisting of a haphazard assortment of different kinds.
...a busy guy at this time of year,
ReplyDeleteYes! lol
DeleteI watched this last year and thoroughly enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteI was impressed to see what I think would've become an annual tradition if it had come out when my kids were little.
DeleteNow I wish I had Netflix!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun one, but I don't see it anywhere but Netflix :(

ReplyDeleteI'm googling Deck the Halls. I haven't seen the Christmas Chronicles yet but have it saved to watch maybe today. I love The Snowman! Magical!
DeleteI need to check this out. It sounds like a good one!
ReplyDeleteI did really like this one.
DeleteThanks, but I'm not an animated movie fan at all. Have a great day, Valerie
ReplyDeleteSome of the animated Christmas movies are my favorites :)

I'll look up Last Christmas, thanks!
DeleteBeen meaning to peek at that one since last year, I think. Thanks for the reminder. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
I hope you like it. Do your grandkids like Christmas movies?
DeleteNot seen this one, I love a good Christmas movie! Thanks for the recommendation 😁. Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy it :)
DeleteYeahhhhh I don't do well with christmas. I don't celebrate it so I really don't watch this type of movies.
ReplyDeleteAll these Christmas-focused shows this time of year must be tedious for those who don't observe the holiday. :(
