Artists in Kungälv

Artists in Kungälv (1937):

by Bo Beskow, a Swedish artist and author who died on April 1 in 1989. I'm sharing this painting and its table full of drinks for the weekly T Stands for Tuesday blogger gathering, where any post that includes a drink of some kind is your "in" to delightful company.

ATCs:

There've been several questions about how I find the time to do so many of these. I confess that one of the reasons I love ATCs so much is that when I was introduced to them part of the explanation was that you shouldn't spend a lot of time on each one, that they are a more casual type of art not intended to be struggled with or lingered over. What I do doesn't take hardly any time at all. They are tiny, after all, and I use a lot of prompts I see online so the idea is already there for most of them. The most time-consuming part has been finding some piece I knew I had but couldn't locate in my stash or experimenting with an unusual shape. These are speedy little bits of quickness. I imagine if I stick with this and learn more about it I will begin to spend more time on each one.

  1. Always fun to sit around with like minded people and discuss a favorite passion. Your ATCs are delightful. Inspired by you, I've been on the lookout for 42. Haven't found it yet. Happy T Day

    1. I'm not seeing them out in the wild like I used to. I'm thinking about painting one on my fence and making more ATCs when I find them in printed material.

  2. You find the best art for Tea Tuesdays. Often, like this time, artists I've not heard of before. I'm really enjoying following along with your ATC adventure. Are you into trading them or just making a collection for yourself?

    1. The first time I made ATCs was when Elizabeth hosted the swap a few years back. I sent one lonely little card lol and the person who sent to me sent a packet full of cool stuff.

  6. Thank you for once again introducing me to an artist I have never heard of until now. I love how you always find a way to include the date in some way, too.

Your ATCs are wonderful. When I was learning about ATC, I was told you have a background, a foreground or focal image, and a saying or quote. Somehow I have gotten away from that in the past few years. It looks like you are doing that for the most part.

Thanks for sharing these wonderful ATCs and your Beskow painting with us for T this Tuesday, dear friend.

  7. That's a beautiful painting and I can just imagine the people in the painting chatting and enjoying themselves like we do when we visit members of the T Gang 😁. I loved hearing about why you like creating your ATCs too and your creativity always provides lots of inspiration, thank you! Happy T Tuesday! J 😊 x

  8. I really love that painting by Bo Beskow. The loose look of the painting and the splashes of color due to the foliage are really beautiful!

I agree with you. The best part about ATC's is that they take so little time. Mini pieces of art. I love the various subjects that you have covered.

    Happy Tea Day,
    Kate

  11. thanks for introducing me to bo beskow, never heard of him before.
the good thing about atcs really is that there are no rules (besides the size). i love your spontaneous approach, which obviously is a lot of fun! keep on!

  12. Happy a bit belated T day. For some reason your posts alway take an extra day to show up in my blog post list. Love this painting. think how none of the faces are really clear but how we can tell they are faces. And another week of fantastic ATC's. I like the green one especially. Time for green in my world. Happy Wednesday. Hugs-Erika

  15. Thank you very much for sharing that beautiful picture of a painter that I did not know until today, it is very beautiful. And wwooooww, I love love love your so GORGEOUS ATC's!!. Wonderful design, colours and ideas ! Each one is so special, they express so much! The truth is that the Atcs are very addictive, especially because of their size, as you say. I have a few in a folder, mine and of some swaps too.
I wish you a very nice Friday,
    Big hugs, Caty

  18. I'm inspired by your ATC's, D. Even more so now that you say you don't obsess; you just put them together. That's something I'm striving for.

Sorry to be so late to tea. We've been cruising :-)

    Belated Happy T-day! Eileen xx
