  1. Wow, that is certainly a different version of the night before Christmas. It's so fascinating how different cultures have different holiday ideas. I guess in communist Russia you didn't even really have much of a Christmas, or maybe you did a truly secular holiday. That is worth a look up too. Anyhow, enjoyed this and thanks for something a little different. Happy holidays. hugs-Erika

    1. When I first heard about this I expected that poem about Santa, but it's not related at all lol I wasn't familiar with the Gogol story until I started looking for different types of Christmas stories.

    1. The problem with the way this title is translated into English is that we tend to expect that poem about Santa. It's not connected in any way except that both stories happen on Christmas Eve. Expectations like that can be a problem :(

    1. The Gogol story is such a slapstick tale really lol I got a kick out of it :) Thanks! And blessings of the season to you and yours, too!

  4. Okay! This was a much, much better version that I could follow, no problem. Funny how they took sacks around for food kind of like halloween--LOL! Was worth the subtitles to see this version after the first one (that I still don't care for--LOL!).
    Merry Christmas!! :)

    1. It's like the Christmas Carol adaptations in that they are alike in many ways but so very different in others. Merry Christmas!
