Fantasia is a 1940 animated Disney musical anthology film featuring various pieces of classical music. I've seen it several times, having had it on VHS when the kids were little. This time I watched it on Disney+. It was expensive to produce and was a box office failure. It's a must-see but doesn't in my opinion reward re-watching.

DeleteThe perfect movie to have on for kids when the grown-ups want to talk or read while the kids watch! Gorgeous score, beautiful animation... but I wonder if today's romper stompers would find it active enough.

DeleteI agree with you--worth one run through but not something I was excited to see again. I did watch it twice--saw it a second time a couple decades later. Strictly a visual and audio experience with no real storyline. Closest thing to a storyline is Mickey and the mops.

DeleteI think it's a well done film, but I always found it a little slow to get through. But I do applaud anytime someone tries to push the boundaries.

DeleteCount me as a fan! I saw it in a theater on one of its re-releases when I was quite young, and saw parts of it on the Disney Sunday Night program which my family watched. And I’ve seen it again as an adult.

It's good that re-watching movies is an option. I'm glad the Disney ones are more readily available these days.
DeleteOf late I have been questioning Disney's choice in film making ... I've inherited the task of rooting through a box of VHS tapes donated to the church, wonder what Disney classics I'll find :)
