Tombstone (1993)
Tombstone is a 1993 Western film starring Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer, with Sam Elliott, Bill Paxton, Powers Boothe, Michael Biehn, Charlton Heston, Billy Bob Thornton, and Dana Delany in supporting roles, as well as narration by Robert Mitchum. It's a traditional western, well told and well acted. And that cast! I watched it on Amazon Prime, free with ads. Or Daily Motion has it.

I liked Gunfight at the OK Corral better
ReplyDeleteThere are so many tellings of this story.
Delete...it's too bad that Charlton Heston is in it.
ReplyDeleteI don't usually avoid films because of the scuzziness of those associated with them. Woody Allen is about the only one.
DeleteDeciding which stars/directors are too scuzzy to watch and which are only scuzzy-ish is quite a task!
ReplyDeletebe safe... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
I generally try to ignore their personal lives, but I made an exception for Woody Allen.
DeleteAnother favorite of mine. Val plays his part with excellence. I too avoid anything to do with woody allen.
ReplyDeleteVal Kilmer is a treat, and he's always worth looking for. I still remember the first time I saw Dead Man's Bounty (aka Summer Love).
DeleteI just watched this a few weeks back. I like it, but then I am a Kurt Russell fan. A good book I can recommend with a similar story is Epitaph by Maria Doria Russell. I think you might have written about one of her other books.
ReplyDeleteKurt Russell is one of those actors where I'll watch a film just because he's in it.
DeleteI think I've read something by Mary Doria Russell but can't remember what. I'll keep an eye out for Epitaph. Thanks!
I saw this on TV several years ago. I think it was TNT where I saw it, but not sure.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have cable so can't watch TNT. We used to have cable but cancelled it and now we have Netflix and Amazon Prime. There's so much to watch out there!
DeleteI watched this one. Sam Elliott. Need I say more--LOL! ;)
ReplyDeleteYes! This film has an irresistible cast!
DeleteNot my favorite genre but my former office assistant's fave movie!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't begin to pick a favorite movie, or even a favorite western lol
