The Night Flier (1997)

The Night Flier is a 1997 film adaptation of the Stephen King short story. This is another one I didn't finish. It's a modern vampire story so should've been right down my alley, but there's just too much of the doomed hard-bitten reporter here for my taste.

HorrorFreakNews calls it "an Original Vampire Movie with a Great Story." Moria praises it saying, "What keeps the film going is an original story, which comes as a well structured mystery where the piecing together of the puzzle gives the story an intriguing drive."

    1. I came to Stephen King late and have only read 3 or so of his books. I haven't read the short story this film is based on.

  2. I need to check this out. I didn't know Stephen King did vampires. Everything else crazy but not something so traditional as vampires. I do like a good vampire book. And wondering what you thought of those super tuesday results since I know you are politically interested.

    1. I've been a huge Elizabeth Warren fan for decades. I have never been a fan of Biden and was disappointed when Obama chose him as his VP. I find myself disheartened in the wake of Super Tuesday :( My FB feed has been me posting pro-Warren articles for some time now. I'm thinking I'll be much quieter on FB for a while. Don't get me wrong, I'll #VoteBlueNoMatterWho as the Yellow Dog Democrat I am, but I don't have any enthusiasm for it. We'll see who he picks as a running mate.

I'm testing the Twitter waters. We'll see how I fare there.

  3. I watched the first five minutes of this and am not sure I will finish it.

Like I told CJ this morning, I read a political joke this morning: When was the last time AL and MA agreed about anything? Unlike you, I am thrilled with the Super Tuesday results. Even more so now that Bloomberg is backing Biden. Sorry you feel the enthusiasm is gone. Let's hope he picks a running mate who you can get behind.

    1. I've never been a Biden fan, and he's lost a step or 2. He's who we've got, though. I'd like him to pick a younger and progressive veep, but who knows. I swear every time someone says they don't understand why we can't get a woman president but who then says they can't support Warren because they don't think we're ready for a woman president I wanna beat my head against a wall :(

    2. I have a feeling Biden may choose a woman Veep. I think Warren lost a step or six when she came out with her medicare plan. She was great in the first two debates and I was really impressed with how fast she talked and took command of the debate. Then she started attacking fellow candidates at the debates and that seemed to turn people off. The idea is to be united against Trump, not find fault with those in her own party. I guess that's what I saw in Biden. His first few debates were horrible and I agree he was out of step. But the last three weeks he has definitely come alive. And he doesn't attack like the fight between Mayor Pete and her. That was STUPID and I think that's what cost her in NH and Iowa, where Pete did much better.

    3. Warren proved she could stand toe to toe against all comers, that's for sure. She's tough. She said to Bloomberg what had to be said, for example, and he never recovered. In the primary they all had to come against each other, I understood that. It's a test for how you'll do in the debate against the trump bullying. If she'd been a man that wouldn't have been held against her as it wasn't held against the men who did it. If she hadn't stood up and fought like she did people would've called her soft and too much of a wonk to fight for what she thought was right. I'll always believe her only fault was being a woman. She got pushed into specifics on her health plan beyond what the men were. She's the only candidate that had a thorough epidemic response plan, and that was available online over a month ago. Ah, well, we'll see who Biden picks for a running mate. #VoteBlueNoMatterWho

  5. I'm generally not into vampire/monster stories. They have to be really good with an interesting plot and characters. So I'll pass on this one. :)
