Printed Rainbow is an award-winning 2006 Indian animated short film. There's a hot cuppa at 1 minute 13 seconds and tea for two at 8 minutes 50 seconds so I'm sharing this for T Stands for Tuesday (a weekly blogger gathering where we share a post with a drink in it). Both the woman in this film and our host Elizabeth share their homes with cats, so that's another connection I'll point out.
It's about a woman who collects matchboxes, and who finds the color for her life there. What an imagination! She inspires me.
We had an hour of rain yesterday, and I took a video to share:
Ah the sound of rain can be quite soothing - I listened to the rain this morning while still tucked up in bed. Your video of rain on your patio was very enjoyable.
yes, I do love the sound of rain but really, we have gotten way too much the last few weeks! And more on the way today... thanks for sharing the videos, and happy T day!
What a delightful animated short film! I love how the matchboxes colour her life and the happiness it portrays, I think I would have fun driving that big truck too ...lol 😉. I also like the way you look at peoples lives through the windows and the dedication at the end is very heart warming! Wow, that's quite the downpour of rain and the sounds and sight is so magical! Thanks for sharing and wishing you a very Happy T Tuesday! J 😊 x
i really love that rainbow video:)) and that august rain is such a beautiful sound in my ears... friday hopefully will bring it here, too... happy t-day! xox
I love coming here to see what you share with us-always so interesting I love that and wow is rain just the best thing ever-especially when it has been missing for so long-enjoy
I LOVED this video for more than a few reasons. Some things I took away include how colorful the buses were, how funny the cat was when the cow was being milked and "went," how the cat and lady's clothes were hanging on the line, and how sad the ending was for me. This is a heart rendering film. I really enjoyed that it included two drink references in the short, too.
I want your patio. It looks so festive, even in the rain. It is so colorful and beautiful and the rain is so meditative and refreshing. You always find the best T Tuesday posts, dear. I want to have a matchbox swap (grin). Most of all, I want to thank you for joining us for T this Tuesday.
Your plants are beautiful and I love watching the rain fall. We have had a lot of hard rains like that as of late. My plants love it and I am so glad that I don't have to do the watering. Happy Tea Day, Kate
Its always interesting to visit, the animated video was good to watch, everyone needs colour in their lives. That was some rainstorm in the second video, many of us have needed rain this summer. Happy T day wishes. Yvonne xx
What a charming animation, D. I love her journeys through the art on the matchboxes. There really is magic in art. And you find a lot of it for us at T ;-) Thank you. I loved the ending!
Your gentle rain video is very peaceful and meditative.
What a lovely animated film. Beautiful. Thank you for sharing that. I'm a bit like that with my postcards. I can look through them for hours. I enjoyed the rain too. It still hasn't rained here. (very dry country) so that rain refreshed me no end! Happy T-Day, Lisca
I liked this film. It is such a clever animation and I like the artsy style it has. And I also love watching your rain. I do love your patio space. You must be thrilled for your plants are getting a good watering. Hope it was a great T day. Hugs-Erika
What a sweet short film, and to think I would never have seen it had it not been for you! Thank you for that and for the lovely rain video, too. Happy Tea Day!
What a wonderful short film, even though it brought a tear to my eye at the end! I loved how the old lady spent part of each day having these fantasy adventures and loved seeing all the little things going on in her neighbourhood! I would love to sit on your patio - rain or shine it looks a lovely place! When we bought our apartment one of my ex-neighbours had already been here for a couple of years. We looked at quite a lot, wanting somewhere with a community and here is where we realised that we had a chance to opt in or out when we pleased, of quite a number of events and activities! There are so many inspiring folk here a lot older than us! It also means it is secure when we want to go away, although we are one of the few apartments with outdoor access from our front door! Belated Happy T Day! Hugs, Chrisx
I loved this little film!!! Being a round old lady with glasses, housebound with a cat whose "matchboxes" are videos of people living off the land & off grid, traveling the world, living on narrowboats...I could quite easily relate to her. Although my real world is also colorful. ;)
And yes--I, too, love the sound of the rain. I have always found rain--even wild thunderstorms--to be calming.
Because this blog does not consist of a single focus topic I chose the name Divers and Sundry where "Divers" means being of many and various kinds, and "Sundry" means consisting of a haphazard assortment of different kinds.
You always have such unique things to T Day. Your rain video is so meditative.
ReplyDeleteI like the rain.
