Storm Over Asia is a 1928 silent film from the U.S.S.R. Historical accuracy is not a priority here. You can watch it with English intertitles, thanks to youtube:
It's included in the book 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die, which calls it "A strange mix of rip-roaring adventure film-making, Soviet socialist propaganda, and ethnographic documentary" and says it is "never less than entertaining". I didn't finish it. Maybe some other time.
