Monica (Hulu) is a 2022 Italian/American English language film about a woman who returns to her childhood home to help care for her dying mother 20 years after her mother disowned her and kicked her out. The mother doesn't recognize her now, and the two women build a new relationship with each other. I liked this one. The characters are engaging, sympathetic, and believable. Most reviews are positive, and the film won the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Film – Limited Release, given for excellence in the depiction of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) characters and themes.
