Sweetheart

Sweetheart is a 2019 horror film. I saw it on Netflix. A young woman tries to survive shipwrecked on an island with a monster.

trailer:

Heaven of Horror says, "Basically, this is a cool little movie with a tight and entertaining story." Variety calls it a "well-crafted if unmemorable old-school creature feature." Rotten Tomatoes critics gave a combined score of 95%.

  2. Not a horror fan but I'm curious. Is it a real monster or someone you would call a monster?

  5. I'm usually not a fan, unless it's vintage horror. I'll have to check this one out.

    1. I love the old monster movies. Some of the newer horror is really not much more than reinterpretations of those same old ideas.

  6. I think I'll pass. Not a fan of horror or monsters. For once I'm not sorry I don't have Netflix.

    1. I'm hearing promotions of romance and political thriller films lately. I'll take horror over those any day ;)

    2. I hate romance, but what in the world is a political thriller? Shades of Jan 6, 2021?

    3. Some examples would be The Manchurian Candidate, All the President's Men, Three Days Of The Condor, Air Force One, The Post, the Jack Ryan tv series... I'm sure there've been some that are 9/11 related, though I haven't seen any of those. Eventually there'll be some based on 1/6. According to Wikipedia it's "a thriller that is set against the backdrop of a political power struggle". I've enjoyed some of them, but I don't tend to seek them out.
