Cléo from 5 to 7

Cléo from 5 to 7 is a 1962 French film directed by Agnès Varda. I watched it on HBO Max.

trailer:

BBC says it deserves to be a classic, saying this: "Cléo is finally getting its due as a film that deserves to stand beside Francois Truffaut’s The 400 Blows and Godard’s Breathless as New Wave classics." Roger Ebert has it on his list of Great Movies and says it "plays today as startlingly modern. Released in 1962, it seems as innovative and influential as any New Wave film." Rotten Tomatoes has a critics consensus score of 96%.

  6. That film has been on my list forever, but I’ve not seen it. I keep meaning to watch more of the “New Wave” films from that era. I think that 400 Blows is being re-released.

  7. I have not really seen the movie, but the plot seems interesting, sometimes, not very often, we wonder about our existence, about what really has value. It is a good reflection, death, life, beauty, what really matters? May see it.
    Happy T- day!
I hope everything goes well dear friend, I wish you a very happy 2022, full of happiness and health.
    Big hugs, Caty

In response to your comment on my blog, Kimchi is in the freezer section. I have never seen it at my grocery store but the Asian Markets have them.
    Happy Tea Day,

  10. It seems like I've recently read something about Agnes Varda but for the life of me can't think what it was. It does sound interesting.

  19. Well, that tested my French! It does look to be an interesting film - I will add it to my list. I had coffee with my French friend the other afternoon - she gives me tips on pronunciation - I could be saying something rude sometimes! Belated Happy T Day, Chrisx
