The Witch is an award-winning 2015 horror film. It takes place in 1630s Puritan New England. Those woods are a looming, ominous threat; and witches are real and are not wise healers. I watched it on Netflix, though it's not still there.
trailer:
Roger Ebert's site gives it 3.5 out of 4 stars, calls it "consistently engrossing". Rotten Tomatoes has a consensus critics rating of 90%.
I couldn't find it on Netflix found it on Kanopy, but the sound quality wasn't good, the Northern accent difficult to understand and no subtitles so I didn't get very far. Too bad because it looked good.
Because this blog does not consist of a single focus topic I chose the name Divers and Sundry where "Divers" means being of many and various kinds, and "Sundry" means consisting of a haphazard assortment of different kinds.
...this a great time of year for you.
ReplyDeleteI love Halloween. Not just a day for me, but a month lol
DeleteHimself is watching football and the baseball. I might give this a try
ReplyDeleteSounds spooky. But maybe worth a watch for me. If its not all blood and gore. There is something spooky about the woods at this time of year.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can find it.
DeleteI have seen this a few times but I actually just watched it again yesterday.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good one.
