P (2005)

P is a 2005 Thai-language horror feature film directed by Paul Spurrier. A young orphan who was taught magic by her grandmother in rural Thailand finds her life getting darker as she uses the magic in the city. I watched it on Netflix. It's gone from there, but it looks like Vudu has it for free.

trailer:

Eye for Film calls it "too grim and depressing to be fun and too stylised and sanitised to be taken seriously?"

  1. Now there's a lesson for all ... country magic needs to stay out of the city (lol).

  5. The critic's description was enough to keep me from even WISHING I had Netflix.

    1. Netflix doesn't have it anymore lol These movies move around so much it's hard to keep track.

  6. This sounds good, but I can't read subtitles fast enough to keep up with foreign language films. Darn.

Horror movie: Ouija House. (Not great, but still a good scary movie.)

Unrelated, but what I find a fun "guilty pleasure" type TV series show: One of us is lying (NBC / Peacock). It's a drama / mystery centered on High School kids. (Fun if you liked shows like 90210, Gossip Girl, etc.)

    1. I'll check out Ouija House, thx!

Those "guilty pleasures" are so much fun. I count Sabrina as a favorite. I hear she's making a crossover to Riverdale, so I may have to start watching Riverdale.
