  1. This must have quite the atmosphere to it, being silent and such an early film. How was it?

    1. Impressive. I'm always surprised by how much story they can tell in these shorter films. These days I think they go to far to make films longer without actually putting more in them ;)

    1. Sometimes the old shorts are the best, even without the length and the special effects we're used to today.

    1. I like the shorts, too. These bloated 2+ hour things tend to feel sooo long!

  6. I never read the book but I saw a film long ago and I thought Quasimoto saved Esmeralda in the end. I guess not...only temporarily. But he punished the bad guy...and will probably be exectued for that in the end. Weird. Not what I expected.

    1. I read the book but so long ago I don't remember much. It is a tragic story, though, isn't it :(

  7. I am not big on the horror ones but Hunchback is such a classic and not really horror. Just good film. Love this version.

    1. It's more in the monster movie sub-genre of horror.
