Tiny Hands

We Don't Want Your Tiny Hands, Anywhere Near Our Underpants

by Fiona Apple. This protest song/chant was written in support of the 2017 Women's March. As we begin this new year I'm thinking we need more protest songs.

  1. What we need is for Congress in particular the Republicans to grow a back bone and start proceedings under the 25th amendment. I fear it's going to be a long 2 years until the next election.

    1. Yes, I can't believe we're where we are today. And if McConnell doesn't start letting things come to the floor for a vote he becomes de facto dictator. What a mess!

  2. We are a force awaken. I am still amazed that he can say those things & still have the job he has. History WILL judge all those that allowed it to continue.

    1. I agree that history will judge Ryan and McConnell and the rest. These elected officials who talk a good game but do nothing are as bad as those who are true believers.

  3. YES, YES, YES!!!

What made me so happy was how many more women (and a few men, too) were present for the march in Washington as opposed to the previous day when Trump was inaugurated. Just think what would have happened if all the marchers from Chicago, Seattle, New York, and L.A. would have been in Washington.

    1. I wasn't there, but we had a good showing here in Memphis for that event. It hasn't gotten us any closer to dealing with the problem, though, and I'm not sure it'll get any better, to be honest :(

  4. I didn't know this song before, but it's good. And every protest against that man is good! Valerie

    1. I remember the protest songs during the Vietnam War era and can't believe we're not swimming in protest songs now, but I don't hear them now like I did then.

    1. I do miss the old protest songs and wonder why people aren't writing them. Or maybe they're writing them and I'm just not hearing them....
