Orange Coffee
ground coffee (not instant) 1/3 cup
grated dried orange peel 1 1/2 teaspoon
cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon
vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon
Thoroughly blend/mix all dry ingredients. Blend in vanilla extract. Scrape sides of container and mix again. You can use a blender for this, but I use a fork.
Makes 1 8-cup pot of coffee, or measure it out for individual pour-over servings.
I had this for Thanksgiving Day, and it was good with breakfast while we watched the parade on television:
and lunch:
and apple pie (compliments of The Daughter) and spice cake:
but my goal was to have the recipe tested and ready to go for the Christmas season. I've given a batch to The Daughter with a promise to refill it on request as I do the Spice Tea mix, and we will both enjoy it during the holidays.
I'm going to link up with the T Stands for Tuesday blogger gathering where we share a post that includes a drink. Please join us.
I'm not a coffee drinker, but I love the smell. I bet this smells heavenly. The spice cake and apple pie looks soooo good. Happy T Day
ReplyDeletei will try this out! sounds like a really good smell and taste.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds gorgeous! Happy T Day, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like an excellent addition to coffee. I might have to try this and use orange zest since I always have oranges this time of year. I'll let you know when I do. BTW, you sure eat well. I was impressed with breakfast, lunch, and dessert. Had I eaten all that, I would be waddling home. Thanks for sharing your Christmas coffee blend, your meals, and your water with us for T this Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteI can't have anything with caffeine any more even decaf coffee has too much caffeine for me now sigh--but I love your recipe and will try that with my chicory "coffee" and when I drank coffee I always loved pour over coffee or my french coffee press too-I need to dig those out for my chicory
ReplyDeletefood looks delicious, my Grandma always made the best spice cake
Happy T wishes Kathy
Your coffee recipe sounds delicious and I'd love to try your spiced tea mix 😁. I enjoyed seeing your Thanksgiving celebration too, the food looks yummy especially the spiced cake and apple pie! Happy T Tuesday! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so good!!! I love orange coffee too. My husband is not a fan of cinnamon in his coffee so I substitute poppy seeds and we like it.
ReplyDeleteHappy T Day!!!!
Carol
I'm not a huge coffee drinker, but I think the orange zest would add such a nice touch. All your meals looks so tasty. It reminds me of a Christmas morning, my Mom would always try to make the perfect pot of perked coffee, oh the concoctions that she would come up with, such as dried egg shells to filter the coffee.
ReplyDeleteYour coffee recipe sounds delicious, the aroma must be very tempting as well.
ReplyDeleteYour Thanksgiving meals looked yummy.
Happy T day wishes.
Yvonne xx
I don't drink coffee but it sounds good none-the-less. Now in tea I bet it's wonderful. Nice seeing your delicious looking Thanksgiving. Your table is pretty and like me, I love how you have different colored dishes. Hope it was a fantastic T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteYour thanksgiving day meals look so delicious especially that pie. I have never had orange coffee but from looking at your recipe it sounds very good.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day,
Kate
Not sure I would like that even if it does sound interesting and probably smells delicious. I'm a black coffee girl, myself. The food looks yummy. Glad you all had a good day. :)
ReplyDeleteBlack coffee is how I like it, too. That said, I do like a few flavored coffees, including this orange one, a snickerdoodle flavor, and a hazelnut coffee. I do not like any coffees that are whitened or sweetened. People who put milk in coffee are people who don't really like coffee ;)
DeleteOooh! I think I am going to have to try this!! I would have loved to help you eat some of that food too! Belated Happy T day!, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteI'm late to this but the recipe sounds like it would be worth a try. I've made spiced tea before but not spiced coffee. Looking forward to your spiced tea recipe. You are going to share it aren't you? Lol!
ReplyDeleteMy spice tea (sometimes called "Russian Tea") recipe is here: https://divers-and-sundry.blogspot.com/2014/02/spice-tea.html I've been making it since I was in high school :)
