Coffee (1916):
by Henri Matisse, who died on November 3 in 1954 at the age of 84.
I had a birthday last month, and The Daughter gave me a lovely mug for Autumn:
along with some coffee and chocolates. Mine's more cozy and less exotic than Matisse's vision, but I always feel the desire for "cozy" when the weather is cold.

I bet Matisse would have enjoyed painting your pretty, Autumn coffee mug. Stay cozy.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Matisse art and your mug looks fantastic! Happy T-Day! Hugs, Susi
ReplyDeleteI've always loved Matisse, and this is beautiful. I had no idea he lived that long. For some reason, I thought he died in the 1920s. Shows how much I know about him. it's a beautiful painting though.
ReplyDeleteI genuinely LOVE your cozy coffee mug and your chocolates and coffee you got from your daughter. You didn't let us know it was your birthday, so now I get to wish you a very belated birthday.

ReplyDeleteI love your mug!!!!! The Matisse painting is great, he's always been one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteMatisse is one of my favorite painters so I really appreciated this painting. But I am with you when it gets cold and wanting to be cozy. I even came home, made a cup of tea and started a fire in the fireplace as it is so dark and wet. Waiting to watch election results tonight and hoping for some good results. I think if I had those chocolates and that mug I would be munching and sipping by my fire for sure. Nice gifts. Hope your day is going well. Hugs-Erika

Sorry I'm late. Tuesday is my busiest day and I don't get to see my computer until after 10 pm.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the Matisse. I love his art.
Your mug is really beautiful. And nice and big too. Most of all I love the chocolates. They look like the Dutch chocolates I used to eat (on special occasions of course) during my childhood in Holland.
Happy belated T-Day and a happy belated birthday (you kept that quiet!),
Lisca
