sung by Mandy Patinkin, who celebrated his 63rd birthday yesterday. He's a favorite around our house.
Lyrics excerpt:
The trouble with the world today is plain to seeAin't it the truth! But maybe during this season we can slow down a bit, take our time, and relish what is now.
Is everything is hurry up
It's "rush it through"
"Don't be slow"
"BLT on rye to go"
And coffee
I think she said 'coffee'
I know she said 'coffee
In a cardboard cup'

A new tune for me. Thanks! I'm not just wild about coffee in a cardboard cup - better than styrofoam tho.
ReplyDeletedont like cardboard cups..as you say we all need to slow down
ReplyDeletehow true that song is! Thanks for sharing and a happy T day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a true song! Happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteYes, the world is going so fast! I'm glad I'm living in a slow part of the world....
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting earlier,
Have a great T-Day,
Lisca
That video was such fun! Thanks for sharing! I saw Mandy back in the 1980's on Broadway in Evita--just the best! Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen this singer before but he certainly is full of energy! Great fun too! Chrisx
ReplyDeleteYou might better remember him from his film career: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandy_Patinkin#Film Most people remember him from The Princess Bride; we love him in that. He also played Jason Gideon in the Criminal Minds tv series. He's also done a lot on the stage; he won a Tony for his role in Evita. Here he is on Letterman: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3yhncod0WA
DeleteSo funny! I like his voices and "displays". ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy T-Day! :)
What fun and a lesson too :) I knew he looked familiar and then I saw where you said he was in the Criminal Minds show. Bells ringing :) One of my favorite shows. Thanks for sharing ♥
ReplyDeleteFabulous! love this...he has been in so many different roles, and sings too. Our family favorite was Princess Bride, when he played Indigo Montoya... happy T day!
ReplyDeleteI love Mandy! Princess Bride is a favorite in our house!
ReplyDeleteI'm also a big fan of Mandy Patinkin. I was sad when he left Criminal Minds, but I knew he had a better gig on Broadway when he did. I've only seen parts of Princess Bride, but I remember thinking how funny he was, something I 'd never seen in him before.
ReplyDeleteI agree we should slow down, get rid of those cardboard cups and drink out of something REAL. Thanks for sharing this with us for T this Tuesday. I really enjoyed it.
I read that Patinkin left Criminal Minds because he was disturbed by the increasing and graphic nature of the show's violence: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/mandy-patinkin-criminal-minds-370339
Deleteoh what a fantastic reminder to slow down!
ReplyDeletehappy belated t-day!
Cute song! I'd never heard it before or seen the video, so thank you. I do like Mandy Patinkin. I always think of him as Inigo Montoya. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL This was a new side to Patinkin for me, but clearly, this is something he does a lot and is very good at. Perhaps it´s just not part of the Patinkin package that exports much abroad. Love it. Happy T-Day, though I am not participating this time.
ReplyDeleteI wish his Dead Like Me tv series had lasted. /it was gone before I found it.
