Now that the tourists have finished paying their
Death Week homage to The King, it's quieter at Graceland. You can see a picture of the house that updates every minute
at this link. There are 3 virtual tours
linked here.

ReplyDeletesome memphians still remember when elvis came and went through those gates, ya know. for some, going through the house feels a bit too strange.
and, of course, not _every_ memphian is an elvis fan. hard to believe, i know, but variety is the spice of life. ;)
Hi I agree completely with Drivers and Sundry why is it that just because someone lives in Memphis they should automatically visit Graceland for all you know he may not be able to afford to go or for whatever reason not want to go. Does it really matter the person was just being honest and saying he hadn't been, he was not saying anything bad about Graceland at all. Hopefully one day I will get to visit Graceland but I have no bad feeling to anyone who lives near and has not been. Why get so personal about it. I am sure Elvis would not be offended!
ReplyDeletethx, anonymous :) i hope you get to come to memphis and see graceland. our zoo is also a popular attraction. and if you haven't seen the mississippi river here, do go downtown and see it. maybe eat at the arcade restaurant and take a riverboat ride. enjoy :)
DeleteHi thanks very much for the reply. I will be sure to visit everywhere you have recommended if I ever manage to save enough money to come over from the UK :)
ReplyDeleteoh, from the uk! that puts it in a different light, doesn't it! i watched the olympics on tv and wished i could go to london and ride that london eye. i went to england once on a quickie student tour of europe and have always wanted to go back and see more of britain. i don't travel in real life, though. it does cost a fortune! all my travels are online. google is my travel guide these days. ah, the marvels of modern technology! :)
DeleteHi yes we do not live in London (we live in Staffordshire in the middle of England about 139 miles from London) but were in London during the olympics but did not actually go to the olympics (a bit like A Pal!).
ReplyDeleteWe can afford to travel as we have built our own house so money is tight but we will definitely visit USA one day and hopefully see Graceland!
Sorry meant cannot!
Deletewe talked about going to the olympics when it was in atlanta, knowing it would never be closer and that it would be our best chance. we opted to stay home. i don't really remember why. it would've been fun to be there while it was going on even if we hadn't gone to any of the official events.
