The Daughter offers these 2 tasteless Elvis jokes in honor of the day:
- Q: What was Elvis' last big hit?
A: The bathroom floor.
- Q: What would Elvis say if he were alive today?
A: "Let me out, let me out, let me out!"
If she really had a full appreciation of Elvis and real faith that he is still alive she would, of course, not think those jokes were so funny. She is not, however, a true believer. What can I say? I have tried to convince her, but she remains more than skeptical.
As a finish for our Elvis Presley Tribute Film Fest we watched Lilo and Stitch, which I wrote a blog post for back in January.
Earlier tonight we watched Elvis Has Left the Building and Bubba Ho-Tep.

I appreciate Elvis! I appreciate lots of dead people. :P It is most unfortunate that he is dead, but we must not let our sadness weigh us down, but battle on.
ReplyDeleteI find your lack of faith disturbing...
ReplyDeleteIf only everyone had known Elvis personally then they would not make jokes like those above.
ReplyDeleteElvis was the greatest entertainer who ever lived and all music fans are indebted to him for it was he who broke down social and cultural barriers in 1950's U.S.A. making it easier for all entertainers who followed in his footsteps.
Oh, I think the jokes are funny enough, it's just that you have to believe Elvis is dead for them to make sense. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhen my father was a little boy, he grew up in the same area of Memphis as Evlis. They played together a couple of times.
ReplyDeleteThat's our only claim to fame. Oh, that and Bob Dole once personally told me to shut up from the floor of the U.S. Senate. But he wasn't as good a dancer as Elvis.
