Murder on the Blackpool Express

image from Amazon Prime

Murder on the Blackpool Express is a 2017 comedy film. I got a big kick out of this light-hearted romp. I watched it on BritBox through Amazon Prime. I can't find so much as a trailer online, but this is well worth the time if you subscribe to BritBox. It was extremely popular.

  1. ...the title doesn't sound like a light-hearted romp.

    1. You can't judge a movie by the title ;)

  2. I would have guessed it was a take off Murder on Orient Express, and maybe a comedy. We started the new Wes Anderson film on HBO last night, The French Dispatch. I love the atmosphere he creates. Hubby did not get into it at all so I need to go back to it and finish it.

    1. I love Wes Anderson, but The Husband is not a fan. I was excited to see French Dispatch was already available! Yayeee!

  3. Very cute lighthearted romp--yes! They have a new season out called Murder, They Hope. Oddly this season is not listed with the Blackpool Express one. They're listed separately for some reason...confusing. Makes me wonder if I have missed any others and how would you know? I really enjoyed them--just fun silliness but they pulled it off. I'm sure this new season will be a nice break from my somber detective murder mysteries, too--LOL!

    1. I think Murder They Hope is a separate series, so maybe that's why they're listed separately? I'm looking forward to seeing it. Right now I'm binge-watching Star Trek: Voyager again ...

    2. Same characters, though--and it looks like it picks up where Blackpool left off where they decided to become private detectives, right? Anyways, I'll be watching it eventually. I am watching season two of The Missing on Prime. :)

    3. Yes, definitely. They seem to be treating them as a separate film series somehow, though. My watch list is so long I'll never finish them all lol

  4. I know--makes no sense for them to do that.
Yes, I have several watch lists that I would have to live to be 200+ in order to watch them all--LOL!

    1. But we'll never run out :) It's a comfort to have books I haven't read and movies I haven't seen on hand :)

    3. This is kinda what I always wanted when I wished for a la carte cable channels. All I had to do to get it was get rid of cable lol

    1. Right after I got rid of cable I missed the 24/7 news channels, the Olympics, and the presidential debates. Then I found out I didn't need cable for those, and I've never looked back :) Look at what you use cable for and see if there's another way to access those. It's amazing what all is available out there free.

  6. With Nigel Havers and Una Stubbs in the cast, I like it already!
