Jamaica Inn

Jamaica Inn is a 1939 Alfred Hitchcock film based on the Daohne duMaurier book by the same name. It stars Charles Laughton and Maureen O'Hara. You can watch it free on Tubi or via YouTube below.

Eye for Film calls it "an entertaining and surprisingly dark period drama."

  3. I wonder if I've ever watched a film with Maureen O'Hara. "The Quiet Man" has been on my list since I visited the pub in Ireland where it was filmed (or maybe where it was set or something). An Alfred Hitcock one sounds very appealing too.

  9. I tried. Watched a good third of it and couldn't get into it despite some good actors. Didn't seem like any other Alfred Hitchcock movie I have watched. Felt jerky and disjointed...or maybe it's my lack of focus? LOL! ;)

    1. It's not Hitchcock's best. And I was disappointed in Laughton. He seemed over the top to me.
