Bundle of Joy

Bundle of Joy is a 1956 film starring Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher. It takes place during the Christmas season.

I watched it free on YouTube, but it's not there now. It can be rented online but isn't freely available anywhere that I can find. So many videos are available for a while and then gone but available at another site. It's hard to keep up.

trailer:

My favorite Christmas movies tend to be older ones, but I had never even heard of this one 'til I happened across it in a list online. I have quite a few tried and true seasonal favorites on disc so I can watch them anytime I like. I have a list here at this link of Christmas movies I've seen, and some of them are still available free. There's such a variety out there from romance to horror, from short TV episodes to long films, from lighthearted comedy to serious drama, and I'd imagine that there's something out there for everyone. You might not like what I do -after all, I don't like It's a Wonderful Life- but surely there's something that'll please you. I hope so.

Will you join me for a seasonal cuppa while we each find a seasonal entertainment that suits us?

There's a weekly T Stands for Tuesday blogger gathering that welcomes any blogger with a drink-related post to share. I'll be there.

  2. We watched that movie again just the other week. We have Hulu Live and can watch on the TCM channel which shows mostly the old movies which we love! Just watched a favorite Christmas one - The Shop Around The Corner with Jimmy Stewart.
Beautiful holiday tea cup and saucer. Best wishes for a happy T day and a Merry Christmas!

  5. You have a beautiful cup and I hope a beautiful day to go along with it. I'll check some of the Christmas movies you list. My daughter is a big fan of Christmas movies. I'll see it there is a new one I can tell her about - or an old one I can remind her of. Thanks!

  6. I knew nothing about them until I watched this trailer. I'll watch for it on TCM. since Linda seems to think it will show sometime. Like you, I am not a fan of Wonderful Life. Compared it with Die Hard one year and Die Hard fares much better as a Christmas tale.

Your cup and saucer are beautiful. So very seasonal and Christmasy. I love the swirls of the saucer. Thanks for sharing the movie trailer and your beautiful cup of coffee for T this Tuesday, dear.

  7. Fischer and Reynolds were married at the time. I'm not a fan of musicals, but I love your teacup and saucer. So very pretty

  8. I'd never heard of this one either. I have heard of Debbie Reynolds of course. Do you know I had a paper doll, a cut-out of her with lots of pretty clothes (in the 50s). I probably still have it in my collection.
Your cup and saucer are beautiful. Is it Wedgewood?
    Greetings from sunny Spain,
Merry Christmas and a very happy and healthy 2022 to you and yours.

    1. No, nothing so fancy as Wedgewood. This is all that's left of a set my mother had when I was young:

  9. I will join you for a cup of T, especially in that pretty cup and saucer. You are so good at finding films for each season or theme. I haven't seen this Doris Day film, but sometimes they are fun to watch on a dark afternoon when you don't feel like anything too heavy duty. I hope you had a great T day Nita and have a wonderful Christmas holiday too.

  12. I love that everybody has a different taste when it comes to holiday movies. Or should I say movies we watch during the holidays. This year I am watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy again, the extended version. I haven't watched it for a few years, but I still know some of the dialogues by heart. Merry Christmas to you!

This sounds like a good movie. I don't know if I've seen it. (From Anne Cornucopia. Google has the comment box disabled when I try to do it while logged in. GRRR.)

  15. As you know, I'm a It's A Wonderful Life fan who watches it every year (Also A Christmas Story)...but I do remember seeing this movie long, long ago when I saw the trailer. Silly and light and singing away. Better for me than horror--ROFL! ;) Merry Christmas!! :)

  16. I think I may have seen this one, there was a time when all of Debbie Reynolds movies were repeated on TV on Saturday afternoons and my mum loved a good musical, so I've probably seen them all lol. I don't like Wonderful Life either because of the high pitched squeaky children, I wish they would do something about that and then it wouldn't grate on me so much haha. I like to watch Die Hard at Xmas, that's a great xmas movie lol. Also Trading Places, and The Day after tomorrow - no one is celebrating anything in that movie but it's full of snow and cold weather, so I have an urge to watch it at this time of year. Festive Wishes and Happy T Day Elle/EOTC xx
