My Dad's favorite shows were Ed Sullivan, Gunsmoke, and Bonanza. I'm sure I saw every episode of Bonanza...and thought Little Joe was dreamy--LOL! When we got our first color TV I remember the whole family's mouths hanging open at the beginning of the show when the flames burned away the map and you saw the colorful scenery on Bonanza! Seeing flesh colored people made them all seem more real--LOL! :)
I googled it, and it has a Wikipedia entry! Cool! "The term "dramedy" was coined to describe the late 1980s wave of shows". I loved The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd but hadn't thought of it as a dramedy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comedy-drama
Because this blog does not consist of a single focus topic I chose the name Divers and Sundry where "Divers" means being of many and various kinds, and "Sundry" means consisting of a haphazard assortment of different kinds.
...Bonanza was always a favorite.
ReplyDeleteMy parents watched it, so I watched it, too.
DeleteAh, Bonanza where Little Joe cried every week.
ReplyDeleteI liked Adam best, and he didn't last long lol
DeleteGolly, I haven't seen Bonanza in ages. This could be fun!
ReplyDeleteI hadn't remembered there being a Christmas episode.
DeleteI used to watch this show all the time. It is still a classic isn't it?
ReplyDeleteIt'd been decades since I saw one of these.
DeleteI loved Bonanza as a kid, but I haven't watched it since then! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's been a long, long time for me!

ReplyDeleteOh, yes, Gunsmoke! I remember we all watched that one!
DeleteI'm not big on westerns. I think I'll pass on this one.
ReplyDeleteWesterns was about all there was on TV during a pretty long period. Then it was doctor shows. Then it was crime.
DeleteWhen did the word "Dramady" (or was it Dramedy?) come into play?

ReplyDeleteMy family watched Bonanza some when I was little, but I didn't remember this one. I thought it was a good holiday story.
