Rich Little's Christmas Carol
Rich Little's Christmas Carol is a 1978 retelling of the Dickens story. It is a one-man performance with Rich Little playing all the roles impersonating famous people. Not my thing. I don't care for impersonators, I'm not a W.C. Fields fan and he's Scrooge, there's a lame laugh track... I found it too painful to finish.

...always a funny guy.
ReplyDeleteI was never a fan.
DeleteI remember Rich Little. I'm with you about laugh tracks. Sometimes the older shows and films are better off staying in the vault. Happy new week Nita.
ReplyDeleteThey are not well served by laugh tracks, that's for sure lol
DeleteOne of the reasons I never watch comedies is they have the horrible laugh tracks. I somehow feel if the line is presented properly, and the visual clues are there, you don't need a laugh track. I am so far behind now, but I have bookmarked this to watch when I have 50 minutes.
ReplyDeleteI remember when M*A*S*H broke with that practice, and life has been better since then lol
DeleteRich Little was so talented and I always l liked him but I found this a little disappointing, too. And I agree about the laugh tracks. They just don't work!
ReplyDeleteHe was so popular! I googled him, and he's 83 now and apparently still performs.
