Delia's Gone

Delia's Gone:

by Johnny Cash

There's a Memphis mention:
I went up to Memphis
And I met Delia there
Found her in her parlor
And I tied her to her chair
Delia's gone, one more round
Delia's gone

  1. I'd never heard this song before. How nice you can tie it to Memphis, too. Rather a gruesome song, though. Two shots and now he's haunted by her memory.

  3. Another good song by the man who can't (or couldn't) do bad songs.

    1. I came to him late, not being a country music fan.

    1. Based on a true story, or at least that's what I hear. Memphis has more mentions in song than any other city.

  6. Never heard this one. Based on a true story? Well, I had to google that and they were teenagers--how sad. Seems people love to make songs about tragedies. Well, we do find them fascinating. ;)

    1. If you like gorgeous photography and music I'd recommend Tom's blog: http://backroadstraveller.blogspot.com/ The music is either new to me or oldies that bring back fond memories :) That's where I heard Delia's Gone for the first time.
